If you want it extra flavorful, put some olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions for three to four minutes, or until they become translucent.
Cook for a further minute after adding the garlic.
Once the steak is browned, add the ground beef and continue cooking. Garnish with paprika, salt, and pepper. Get rid of any extra fat.
Peel and chop the potatoes.
Before slicing, peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices, approximately 1/8 inch thick. For even slices, use a mandolin or a knife.
Coat the Food with Sauce:
Mix the milk, cream of cheddar, and cream of mushroom soup in a medium bowl. Whip till completely combined.
Put the Casserole Together:
Layer the cut potatoes in the oiled casserole dish.
A little of the cooked ground beef mixture should go on top.
After browning the steak, pour some soup mixture over it.
Distribute 1/3 of the cheddar cheese that has been shredded evenly over the surface.
Finish with a layer of shredded cheddar cheese and repeat layering until all ingredients are utilized.
Bake:
To make sure the potatoes are soft, cover the dish with foil and bake it for 60 to 70 minutes. Poking it with a fork is one way to check.
To brown the cheese on top, remove the foil and bake for 10-15 minutes more.
Present with a garnish:
Garnish the dish with chopped green onions or fresh parsley when it has cooled a little.
Graze when hot and savor!
For added texture, try adding some more veggies, such as peas, carrots, or corn.
Substitute ground chicken or turkey for the beef if you want.
