Chocolate and coconut squares: the recipe for a dessert that melts in your mouth

  1. Chocolate sponge cake: beat the egg whites with the sugar. Then add the egg yolks and water.
  2. Mix and sift the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Then add them to the dough.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180° for 35-40 minutes.
  4. Coconut layer: beat 2 eggs with the sugar, then add the coconut.
  5. Bake at 200° for 20 minutes.
  6. Filling: mix cheese, icing sugar, cream, white chocolate, chopped almonds and coconut.
  7. Assemble the cake and refrigerate overnight.
  8. Ganache: Melt the chocolate and cream; then use it to cover the cake.
  9. Cut into squares and decorate with some chocolate chips on top.
