Cowboy Steak and Potato Casserole
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish generously with about an inch of oil.
Step 2: Mix the Meat

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.

Mix thoroughly until well combined.
Step 3: Shape and Arrange

Place the meat mixture in the baking dish, shaping it into a loaf in the center.

Arrange the frozen, finely chopped potatoes around the meat loaf. Sprinkle with plenty of salt.
Step 4: Bake Covered

Cover the baking dish with foil.

Bake for 45 minutes.
Step 5: Add Cheese and Finish Baking

Remove foil and sprinkle grated cheddar cheese evenly over the meat and potatoes.

Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the meat is nicely browned.
Step 6: Serve

Optionally garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
