PAULA DEEN’S 5 MINUTE FUDGE

Hello Laura, I have little doubt that you have already settled on a soft fudge recipe, but I will offer you one more recommendation nevertheless. Why not use it as a filling between the layers of a two- or three-layer cake instead of attempting to make it more firm? Just whisk in a little extra evaporated milk. You may use the leftovers to frost the cake, or you can make a quick 5-minute frosting or try out that new cool whip icing. Both the cake and you would be utterly brilliant if you made it.
One and a half cups of white sugar
Ingredients: 1/3 cup of evaporated milk, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
half a teaspoon of salt
1 6-oz carton of milk chips made of chocolate
a dozen big marshmallows
1/8 teaspoon of strong vanilla flavoring
1 cup of nut mixture

GETTING READY:
In a medium-sized saucepan, mix together the sugar, milk, butter, and salt. While stirring continuously, bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Cook the chocolate chips until they melt, then add them.
Take the pan off the stove and mix in the nuts, vanilla, and marshmallows. Be sure to mix well.
Transfer to a pan that is 8 inches in diameter.
Slice when cooled.
