One ½ cups white sugar.
half a cup softened butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
One cup butterm milk
One tablespoons of lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
¬ ½ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
One (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
Making Buttermilk Pie: How To
Set the oven for 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Till foamy, beat eggs. Add butter, sugar, and flour; beat until smooth.
Stir in nutmeg, vanilla, lemon juice, and buttermilk. Pour onto pie shell.
Bake, 40 to 60 minutes, until center is firm.
Out of the oven, chill for one hour before serving.
Suggestions
Cover your pie with foil for the whole baking time if the sides of your pie crust brown too soon.
When the top is just golden and the middle of the pie still jiggles somewhat, your pie is done. As it cools, it will set still more. If a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out mostly clean, your pie is ready.
